Soccer Practice : Secrets Revealed

It’s both the coaches and players that pay no heed to the fact that stretching and warming up in relation to <a href=”http://www.soccerdrillstips.com/soccer_practice.html”> Soccer practice </a>. It must be understood that a practice must support the development of players as a whole. Practicing standard drills alone in soccer training will not serve the full purpose.

Players need strength, flexibility, and endurance to stay alive in the game. Warm up and stretching should therefore be the starting points of any practice session. It should then be followed by technique teaching, games and drills. Towards the end, the kids can be made to learn some game tactics.

There are two purposes that are fulfilled from warm up and stretching. It readies the body to take the strain of a tough sessions and relaxes the body after the session is over. There are a few drills that act as great warm up and stretching exercises.

1. Running in Formation: This warm up activity requires all team members to run, two alongside each other, staying in harmony. This is a great team activity that develops stamina as well as instills team spirit among the kids. Moreover, moving forward in a pre defined arrangement of players; you indicate to the opponents that they are going to have a hard time dealing with you.

2. Follow the leader: The players in this warm up soccer drills activity get to learn the skill of following orders along with dribbling with their heads held high. Every player needs to have a ball in this activity. Ask a senior player or assistant coach to take the lead with the ball and others must follow him. This player should try a lot of new things which should be imitated in turn by the rest of the pack.

3. Reaching Out: In soccer practice, this is a well-admired and useful stretching activity. Instruct the players to stretch their legs towards left, right, and center in a standing position. Then instruct them to touch their toes on all sides. To begin with, this may seem like a tough exercise but they will adjust to it soon.

4. Lift legs up behind: This exercise stretches the thighs. While standing, the kids must raise their leg up behind and then hold it there. The repeat the exercise with the left leg. It is crucial that the kids do not look below at the ground else they will fall.

Every practice must have a purpose. Only a couple of skills should be worked on per week. Create games and exercises that warm up the players as well as help them stretch after the training and also develop their abilities.

Fitness is the key. Appreciate the fact that the team that gets worn out easily loses. Make sure that your fitness activities are drills that include soccer ball as much as possible. Do not let the kids run around the field without a ball, ask them to dribble with it.
